My American Express Platinum Card offers incentives for staying in luxury properties, but requires paying a base room rate. Halifax in March is definitely a little risky for weather, but the Muir Hotel had a nice rate to maximize the value from the Amex card, so we decided to chance it. The weather ended up being decent enough for March, and in addition to touring around Halifax, we had the opportunity to visit my cousin and his family.

After our evening flight and staying in the suburbs, we headed toward Peggy’s Cove and then back to Halifax and the Muir. Once back in Halifax, we also finally had the chance to do a formal tour of the Alexander Keith’s Brewery, which was a nice combination of tour and performance.

After the brewery tour, we had a nice dinner at our hotel restauratnt.

Before our flight home, we visited my cousin for lunch and inspected the construction of their new home, which was well underway..

After our visit, we headed to the airport for our evening flight back home to Toronto.
