For my birthday we decided to head to San Francisco for the weekend. As is often the case to earn more frequent flyer points we didn't take the most direct routing to San Francisco and went via Vancouver. Unfortunately on our first leg, we had a diversion back to Toronto to investigate a strange onboard smell and stayed overnight in Vancouver. It wasn't all bad, as Air Canada paid for a night at the Fairmont at the airport and we were in San Francisco by noon. Even with the challenges, we still had a relaxing weekend in the bay area. Fortunately our flights back worked better.
