I had a business trip to Atlanta and decided to take advantage of the opportunity to connect with Tom there. Having visited Atlanta in the past and with a full week there for work, after staying Friday night by the airport, we headed out of town toward Savannah. Being close, we went a little bit out of the way to check out Hilton Head. The beach looked amazing and we could have spent more time exploring the island, but also enjoyed our time in Savannah. The historic old city is incredibly picturesque and there is also a very fun vibe. It was definitely the highlight of our time in Georgia. On Sunday afternoon, we made our way back to Atlanta for Tom to fly home and for me to get settled in for work.

After an early start and a few hours of driving, we got to Hilton Head in the early afternoon and spent a couple of hours exploring. When we made it to Savannah, we found that it was a very popular place to spend Saturday.
After completing our orientation to the city, we left the camera at the hotel and went out for dinner along the waterfront.

After breakfast, we did a walking tour of more of the historic city buildings.
We drove back to Atlanta for Tom's flight home and I took the Metro to check into the conference and my hotel.
