Calgary, Drumheller and the Rockies

For my final pre-reemployment trip, I headed back to Calgary and met up with a retired friend from Houston, before Tom joined us for the remainder of the weekend.

Jun 16

After arriving in Calgary, we picked up a rental car and headed to Drumheller to allow my friend Karen to visit the fabulous Royal Tyrrell Museum.

Headed back to Calgary for a late dinner by the hotel.

Jun 17

After picking up Tom from the airport, we headed to the Delta in downtown Calgary. When I used to travel to Calgary for work, the Delta had been my go-to hotel, so was fun to come back as a tourist. After settling into the hotel, we went for a walk along the Bow River.

We ended a pretty low key day with dinner and drinks downtown.

As Karen had already visited Banff National Park, we decided to head towards closer, but equally scenic Kananaskis.

Back in Calgary we have enjoyed another evening.

After breakfast at the hotel we headed back to the airport, sent Karen on her way to Houston, and made our way back to Toronto.
