We always enjoy our time in the Bay Area, and as flights to San Francisco were a little more expensive, we decided to build a weekend around flights into and out of San Jose. With good friends that live in the area it was also a great chance to visit them and to explore the area with their local knowledge.

Arriving the night before on Friday, I managed to lose my cell phone on the plane. As we stayed by the airport, I started the day heading back to the airport pleading for them to search the aircraft once again for my phone, unfortunately (although it was on the plane) they were not able to find it. Resigned to the fact that I would not be getting my phone back, we didn’t let it spoil the weekend and met our friends and started to drive to the coast.
After a great hike in the reserve, we headed back inland to the bay to Sunnyvale to a great South Indian vegetarian restaurant. To end the evening, we dropped our friends at their apartment and headed back to our hotel.

We had a relaxing morning around the hotel before heading to the airport for our flights home. I checked again at the lost and found for any evidence of my phone and still ended up short. However, shortly after I arrived in Houston I got a call from a lost and found office in Orlando letting me know that they had found my phone. Despite multiple assurances from United that my phone was definitely not on the aircraft (as they “thoroughly clean” between each flight) my phone had traveled on the aircraft on eight different flights until finally being found on an evening flight from Houston to Orlando on Sunday.
