Inspired again by cheap fares to Los Angeles and the promise of pleasant weather, we enjoyed a brief weekend getaway to kick off a busy January of travel. To shake things up a bit, we stayed in Long Beach which is an area of LA that we hadn’t spent a lot of time in, before. I remembered visiting the Queen Mary from 20 years ago on my very first childhood trip to California to visit my grandparents, and that at least looked about the same. We stayed in a newer development of restaurants and shops across the channel from the Queen Mary and thought it was a nice place to stroll and enjoy some good food. This was a very quick trip, but despite a little bit of grey skies, it was a pleasant get away.
Jan 13-14: Evening flight to LA, overnight by the airport and pick up a car in the morning
Jan 15: After a morning workout, midday flight back to Toronto to end our quick trip
