January seems to be the time that we head to southern California.  This time we had a free Fairmont night to use, so we checked out their beautiful hotel in Del Mar near San Diego.  As we usually do when we’re in the San Diego area, we headed to La Jolla and visited the beach and the sea lions.  There seemed to be a few more seals than in previous visits, with unfortunately lots of tourists getting dangerously close to the animals.

After staying overnight by the airport we drive to Del Mar and do a few short hikes and check out the seals in La Jolla.

After a good workout and nice breakfast at the hotel, we make the ride back to LAX and our afternoon flights home.
