I recognize it is cliché, but I do love New York.  I also like theatre and enjoy Green Day and have been wanting to see American Idiot since it opened on Broadway.  With all my work travels, I also enjoy my time at home in Toronto.  So, we decided to do a day trip to New York.  As crazy as it may seem, it was actually pretty practical, we took the 6:30 am flight and were in lower Manhattan by 9:30 am.  We walked our way from the World Trade Center site, onto the Brooklyn Bridge, through SoHo, NoHo and up to Rockefeller Center, before cutting over to crowds of Broadway and the St. James theatre.  The play was very cool and managed to weave a compelling storyline from Green Day songs.  We had a nice dinner before catching the train back for the flight home and we were back at home in Toronto before the day ended.
