In January, we actually had two trips to San Francisco.  The first was a warm up and more about getting started on flights to qualify for 2011 airline status. I booked it when a very cheap fare aligned with a promotion that assured us upgrades to business class.  Although we didn't venture far (or take photos) we did enjoy the warmer weather and watching the flights land at SFO.  The second trip was a full weekend getaway and was actually planned much earlier.  After an evening arrival at the airport we stayed nearby and headed into the city early the next morning.  After walking our feet off we picked up a car and made our way south for some shopping, spending the night in Santa Clara.  On our way back to the airport we stopped to enjoy the walking trail by the bay and capture some photos of landing planes.
