Orlando

This was the beginning of a travel-packed two months that, between work and vacation after Hawaii, had me travel 37,843 miles (give or take). In January, I started a new job that has me spending a lot of time in Houston. Coincidently, January was also a period of one of the best Hyatt promotions with double stay credits, half price resort nights with large food and beverage credits and lots of bonus free night opportunities. As I do like to plan ahead, before I knew about the work travel, I'd already filled most January weekends with some leisure travel. Unfortunately this particular weekend was the end of a deep freeze that impacted Texas and Florida, and while the weather was sunny, it was nearly freezing. We made the most of what was nominally warmer than Toronto and headed out to try to see the space shuttle on the platform. Unfortunately we failed, but we did get to see Coco Beach. We were also suffering through worsening carry on restrictions to the US that had us checking bags for the first time in years and suffering long lines - not the best time for this surge of travel, but we did make the most of it.
