One of the benefits of my job is that I get one Friday off a month and although I don’t get to take every one that I earn, it’s a nice option to have when you want a quick getaway.  With some creative fare and travel options, we got some very inexpensive tickets to Florence.  While I had been to Florence once before on my trip around the world, Tom hadn’t yet had the opportunity.  We packed in most of the main attractions on the first day, so took advantage of the available time to head to Pisa and the leaning tower.  The weather was beautiful, warm and sunny, and we enjoyed the both Pisa and Florence including the Uffizi and the statue of David.
