We always enjoy our time in Houston with friends, and we enjoyed the opportunity to escape the December cool. With an evening arrival, we stayed at an airport hotel and headed into Houston on Friday morning. Being in Houston on a weekday meant that we needed to get my favourite dumplings at Doozo, and then had the rest of the day to hang around with friends.
Dec 2
Our friend Karen is a big fan of the Houston Zoo, and for all the time we’d spent in Houston, we had never visited. Although Saturday is normally a busy day, it was a little overcast, so it was not too crowded.
We enjoyed a low-key remainder of the day.
Dec 3
For our last day in the city, we walked around downtown a bit and checked out a few of the decorations out for the holiday season.
After another day hanging out with friends, we headed to an airport hotel to be ready for our early morning flight back to Toronto.
Dec 4
We woke up early and caught the first flight of the day to Toronto, getting back home in time for a half day of work as we ended the last trip before Christmas.
