With travel requirements to maintain status back to pre-pandemic levels, we were back to kicking off the year with a short trip to have some fun and earn some travel miles for 2023. There were some excellent business class fares to Dublin, so we thought we would roll the dice on the Ireland winter weather.
Jan 1
Given that we had a paid overseas business class ticket on Air Canada, we earned access to the more exclusive Signature Suite before our flight. As we were on holiday, we got to the airport early for a formal three course meal and enjoyed some additional food and beverage before the flight. Having already eaten before boarding, we were then able to sleep the whole flight.
Jan 2
We arrived relatively rested and secured an early check-in at the hotel, giving a bit of time to refresh before exploring Dublin.
After a full first day in Dublin, we took the bus back to our hotel and went straight to bed.
Jan 3
After breakfast, we had the full day to continue to explore the city, and headed to the National Museum of Ireland for the first time.
We ended the day with dinner at the hotel, and were ready for our morning flight home.
Jan 4
After breakfast, we made our way back to the airport and home to Toronto to start 2023 with a few extra status miles.
