For Christmas this year, we decided to spend time with my parents in Florida, but wanted to get away to some more exotic parts of the state. As I was in Toronto before the holidays, we flew from there to Tampa and stayed one night with my parents before heading to a resort on Coconut Point just north of Naples. It was a nice way to use some of my Hyatt points and share the benefits with my parents. The weather was wonderful, and we were able to get out and explore the area, and spend some relaxing time in the resort as well. It my first Christmas staying in a hotel, which was a little different, but definitely enjoyed the time together.
Dec 24
After spending the night with my parents in Clearwater, we drove directly to Naples to have a nice lunch along and explore the town, before heading to the resort at Coconut Point.
Dec 25
We had a pretty relaxing Christmas day exploring the area around the resort and ended with a nice Seafood Dinner at one of my favorite restaurants. A very different, but enjoyable Christmas.
Dec 26
Before checking out of the hotel, we took the boat to the hotel’s private beach on Big Hickory Island. Afterwards, we headed to Fort Myers to check out the Edison and Ford Winter Estate on our way to the airport.
After a nice dinner together, we headed to the airport and our flight home to Toronto and my parents drove back to their winter home in Clearwater.
