Flying to Hawaii for a weekend isn’t something most people would consider normal, but when one is trying to earn miles for airline status it is not actually a bad way to spend a weekend.  We had some nice weather, explored Waikiki, had some tasty food from a shrimp truck and got to explore the north coast of the island to check out the high surf and whale and sea turtle watching.  Before heading home on the red eye flight we had a nice dinner with friends in Honolulu and made our way home via Vancouver.
