When we go to Iowa for family gatherings, there are lots of flights options.  The best ones have non-stop flights from both Houston and Toronto and require a small drive to Iowa.  This year because of the better flight times we decided to meet in Minneapolis.  Unfortunately there was some weather in the Houston area and they cancelled my flight.  Thankfully, United was nice enough to sign my ticket over to American and get me right to Des Moines, but I had to overnight in Dallas.  Tom drove into Des Moines from Minneapolis and was able to pick me up at the airport shortly after his arrival, so we didn't lose out on too much, but made for a little more drama than we'd have liked.  The gathering itself was good.  This was our last time at Tom's parents’ house in the country outside of Des Moines, before they moved into a smaller condo nearer the city.
